Moreirense head into the run-in locked in another mid-table battle after a sharp dip in form during the second half of the season. Vasco Costa’s side started the year brightly, winning three of their first four matches and briefly looking like European contenders, but a return of just one win in their last ten has seen them fall well off the top-four pace.

Defensive issues have played a major role in that decline. The “Green and Whites” have gone nine consecutive matches without a clean sheet, a problem once again evident in their recent 1-1 draw with Famalicão. Despite taking an early lead through Rodrigo Alonso, they were unable to hold on, conceding in the second half and settling for a point.

That result extended their winless streak to seven matches (four defeats, three draws), their worst run since a similar stretch spanning late 2024 to early 2025.

Estoril Praia, meanwhile, also arrive on the back of a setback after losing 3-1 to league leaders Porto. Goals from Froholdt, Pepe, and an own goal had already put the game beyond reach before Begraoui pulled one back late on.

Ian Cathro’s side are now on a three-game losing run, having also fallen to Rio Ave and Arouca, conceding eight goals across those matches. Still, their overall campaign remains solid, with 37 points placing them eighth in the table—just one point ahead of Moreirense.

Despite their current dip, Estoril will be eager to respond, though recent head-to-head history favors Moreirense. Estoril have failed to win any of their last five meetings, drawing three and losing two since their last victory in 2022.

With both teams struggling for consistency and separated by just a single point, this looks set to be a tight and balanced contest. Their last three encounters have all ended in draws, and another stalemate could be on the cards.
